CRISIS MANAGEMENT
Reputations are earned over many years. But they can be destroyed
overnight with the faulty handling of a crisis. Many a company's
reputation has been damaged or strengthened depending upon its ability
to not only quickly and effectively manage a crisis, but also quickly
and effectively communicate during a crisis. Companies which have
suffered the most damage often were able to manage a crisis operationally
but spokespersons responsible for communicating about operations
failed.
WPNT offers a range of crisis management services including 24-hour
availability, seven days per week, for clients of the Crisis Management
Action Team. For an annual fee, WPNT provides an emergency response
audit of your current crisis communications plans. The fee also
covers the first day of the first crisis response no matter how
many of our staff are involved. Thereafter, our agreed-upon day
rate applies for as long as our services are needed.
WPNT also provides Crisis Communications Planning Services for
those companies which have an inadequate plan, or no plan at all.
A WPNT Crisis Communications Plan includes identification of a crisis
team, logistics, key contacts, etc. The plan is then validated in
simulated drills and exercises. In addition, the firm provides crisis
communications training courses (see Communications Training) for
those responders and spokespersons who will be at the forefront.
On-site coaching for spokespersons, news conference organization,
and media center management is also available.
