Lauri Freking

Lauri Freking is a Senior Associate with Wixted Pope Nora Thompson & Associates in the company’s Des Moines office. She provides executive presentation skills training and media training to a wide range of clients across the country.

Lauri is a native of Bancroft, Iowa, with eleven years of experience in television news and video production in the public and private sectors. She spent five years as a television news reporter, photographer and video editor for the NBC affiliate in Sioux City, Iowa and the CBS affiliate in Madison, Wisconsin, where she ran the station’s news bureau. As a general assignment reporter, Lauri covered a broad range of news events ranging from human interest stories to crime and business news.

She spent six years in public broadcasting as a producer and writer for statewide Iowa Public Television. Her experience includes creating award-winning educational content for K-12 schools and producing content for the local programs, Student Voices and Zoom Iowa. Lauri also produced and hosted live, interactive fieldtrips using video conferencing technology. A familiar face to Iowans, Lauri is a host for Festival, IPTV’s fundraising broadcast.

As a trainer with WPNT Lauri has helped client in the energy, electric utility, manufacturing, and retail industry communicate in a more strategic manner.

Lauri received her B.A. degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Iowa State University.
