Randy Sumner

Randy Sumner is a veteran journalist with nearly two decades of experience as a television reporter, anchor and manager. Currently he serves as a television and radio producer and reporter while helping organizations develop strategies in new media, social networks and emerging platforms such as Twitter.

He most recently worked at KPRC-TV (NBC) and KHOU-TV (CBS) as a producer and reporter. Randy has served in various on-air newsroom positions in Houston, Austin and Corpus Christi, Texas. He was part of the team that launched a 24-hour news channel in Houston where he served as both an anchor and manager. In addition to anchoring and producing for the station, he hosted weekly half-hour programming. He also fronted nightly hour-long special programming for the weeks of the Super Bowl and Major League All-Star Games during 2004 in Houston. He also hosted pregame and postgame shows for the Houston Texans on ESPN 97.5 the Ticket in addition to hosting weekday talk shows.

Prior to coming to Houston, Randy was an anchor and reporter at the Fox-owned station in Austin and the CBS affiliate in Corpus Christi. Randy began his news career in broadcasting working at radio stations in Ohio and Virginia before spending time as an on-air host for a music video channel.

Randy serves as on-camera talent and freelance photographer for television commercials and industrial videos. He also performs television play-by-play and color analyst for sporting events.

Randy is a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in communications.
