First Quarter 2010 Highlights

This is a sampling of recent work WPNT has conducted.

  • One of the world's largest global pharmaceutical companies engaged WPNT to conduct Executive Presentation Skills training for members of its Medical Affairs and Medical Science Liaison teams based in the US and Europe. Alison Gregory Pope and Scott Pope provided a week of coaching in New York City and a week in Paris conducting group and private executive communication coaching sessions.
  • Eileen Wixted presented Leveraging Communication to Create an Engaged Workforce at the annual Allied Public Relations Executive's conference held in Austin, Texas. Healthcare executives across the nation attended to learn about communicating in today's chaotic, frantic, post-healthcare reform environment.
  • A three-week Asia-Pacific trip included training for two clients in five countries. WPNT's Ray Thompson and Alison Freeman offered Private Speech Coaching, Executive Media Training, Advanced Stakeholder Communications Training and Crisis Communications Planning to participants from 15 countries. A Beijing-based Associate assisted in China.
  • To improve their presentation and communications effectiveness with sales counterparts, WPNT assisted marketing professionals of this global, diversified healthcare company with Executive Presentation Skills Training. The team was preparing for a major sales meeting covering topics which included continuing education, patient outreach & advocacy and scholarships. Training was conducted near Chicago.
  • One of the largest private, not-for-profit, academic medical centers in California called on WPNT to provide Leadership Communication Training for its clinical and nurse managers as part of an on-going residency program. The training, conducted in San Francisco, prepared managers for employee communication, multi-disciplinary meetings and formal presentations to senior management.
  • A leading Midwest health insurance company utilized WPNT's strategy and coaching expertise to unveil a new company vision and direction.
  • Top executives from Mexico and Brazil attended Stakeholder Engagement Training in Houston. The program was aimed at helping leadership teams in both countries address evolving policy issues. Strategic message development was followed by multiple on-camera exercises in a variety of formats. A senior Hispanic Associate aided in the session.
  • In preparation for a major energy conference, WPNT assisted five chemical engineers for their addresses to an audience of several hundred refiners. The Opening Remarks & Rehearsal Program focused solely on connecting with the audience in the first minute of their talks. Later, the individuals rehearsed their presentations and received one-on-one feedback and coaching. The training was conducted for an oil & gas technology company outside Chicago.
  • Many of our industrial clients subscribe to the Incident Command System that is widely employed by local, state and federal governments for managing emergency response efforts. WPNT offered Crisis Communications Training to Incident Commanders and Section Chiefs in full-day, on-camera programs that featured a customized crisis scenario.
  • WPNT launched a Leadership Development Program for a long time biotech client to prepare high potential team members to advance in the organization. The program includes individualized coaching, feedback and evaluation over a 9 to 12 month period. The client has worked with WPNT partner Alison Gregory Pope for more than 12 years to improve strategic communication skills across the company from C-Suite to manager level.
  • A maritime industry client retained WPNT to provide Advanced Presentation Skills to its most senior leaders. The session was tailored to help the company improve its internal and external communications pertinent to an important business initiative.
  • Two, executive team members of this Fortune 25 company participated in private, Advanced and Executive Media Training programs conducted by WPNT. A WPNT Press Corps member with deep business and journalism experience supported the program. In addition, a trio of marketing leaders from one of the company's business units also participated in a separate Executive Media Training program. WPNT has been partnering with this Midwest-based company for three years in conducting these signature series programs.
  • Mergers and acquisitions demand skillful communication. Our firm developed an M&A Communication Plan for a major financial services firm.
  • The nuclear industry continues to demonstrate its commitment to emergency planning and preparedness. Our nuclear division assisted multiple sites with communication training and on-site mock media support.
  • One of the world's largest copper mines sought the experience and expertise of WPNT's Executive Communication Services. As former presidential speechwriter James Hume said, "The art of communication is the language of leadership." Smart leaders invest in their ability to communicate.
  • A manufacturing client concerned about the effectiveness of its in-house technical training program brought in WPNT to customize a two-day "Train the Trainer" Advanced Presentation Skills program. Engineers within the company frequently lead weeklong technical training classes. Our program is helping ensure the trainers use the latest techniques in effective communications relative to teaching, learning and recall.
  • We provided Advanced Media Training for three physicians from a leading specialty hospital in Houston. The program was aimed at creating national awareness on an important mortality issue. The training sharpened skills for national television interviews.
  • A leading automotive products maker turned to WPNT to provide two days of Media Training for managers and marketing personnel associated with the nationwide launch of a new consumer product. In addition to simulated television interviews, the program included interviews with well-informed online trade journalists.
  • A well-known National Hot Rod Association racer and his team participated in Executive Media Training in advance of the 2010 racing season. The full day program was conducted near Indianapolis and hosted by the driver's lead sponsor. One of WPNT's Associates with more than a decade of sports reporting experience served as Press Corps.
