We provided a wide range of communications training services to clients in the third quarter. As seen below, the types of clients were varied, too. As were their geographic spread, the issues they face, and the types of communications vehicles they employ as an element of their overall business strategy. - A Crisis Media Awareness session was conducted for frontline employees of a client with port operations along the Eastern Seaboard. The employees selected were those who would likely be the first point of contact with the news media during a significant crisis.
- Senior leaders of this regional medical center based in the Rocky Mountains underwent a day of WPNT's Executive Media Training. Participants were coached and critiqued on expansion, leadership changes, downsizing, infectious disease concerns, and patient care. Two members of WPNT's press corps, both with masters in journalism and corporate executive experience assisted with the program.
- WPNT prepared the CEO of a high-profile Washington-based organization for an interview by Leslie Stahl with 60 Minutes. The segment on CBS is focusing on a controversial public policy issue that involves health professionals, special interest groups, lawmakers, and industry. It's scheduled to air in the next few weeks.
- WPNT Associates including an M&A/venture capital expert, Fortune 200 senior executives, and a former investment banker simulated financial analysts for Analyst Communications Training conducted by WPNT for the CFO of a Fortune 100 company.
- Leaders from a manufacturing client in the Chicago area participated in a Crisis Communications Training program that featured a customized crisis scenario to test and enhance a key facility's readiness. Two additional clients in California conducted similar crisis sessions for their leadership teams during the quarter.
- Technologies surrounding waste removal, building materials, and packaging were some of the topics on which new hires of this Fortune 50 received counsel during a WPNT Executive Presentation Skills program. The professionals were preparing for both customer and senior leadership presentations. A WPNT Associate with 20 years of senior management experience assisted with the program.
- An industrial client in New Jersey called upon us to provide Executive Media Training in advance of a news media teleconference. Our simulators helped the executive effectively brief national and trade media, resulting in successful, nationwide media coverage.
- A trio of C-suite leaders representing the senior emergency response level of this global airline participated in WPNT's Crisis Leadership program in tandem with PulsePoint Group of Los Angeles. Each executive was immersed in a hypothetical accident and faced a corps of both traditional and social media journalists.
- We delivered Advanced Media Training for a client in New York City in advance of a high- profile press availability with national and network media. The executive was part of an initiative involving federal government officials and a prominent not-for-profit organization.
- An Online Message Training program for a consumer products company is in the final stages of development. It's scheduled to be rolled out worldwide to managers and executives. The two hour program has been designed in collaboration with the client, using WPNT concepts and curriculum. It is considered a ‘rite of passage' training program for aspiring managers.
- Business services managers posted to international locations took part in an Executive Media Training program to support their company's growth plans in Brazil, Kuwait, Libya, Madagascar, The Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Turkey and Vietnam. Our series of print and broadcast media exercises focused on current topics and issues in each location.
- To improve his credibility with board members, a CFO of a Fortune 100 manufacturer and longtime client of WPNT is undergoing a number of Executive Communications Coaching programs focusing on the financial implications of product launches and company restructurings at this Midwest based company.
- WPNT has been selected by a high-tech manufacturer to prepare a Crisis Plan for its global corporate communications department. Our plan development process includes interviews with key stakeholders in a discovery phase to collect existing materials; development and deployment of the crisis communications plan; followed by training and drills.
- Five executives of this Fortune 30's sustainability team participated in the company's signature Executive Media Training program, designed and conducted by WPNT. The two programs focused on the company's aggressive efforts to reduce carbon footprints in manufacturing and innovating products to be still more earth friendly.
- We provided one-on-one Speech Coaching for several executives in preparation for keynote addresses and meetings with key stakeholders this quarter. We helped a company president effectively use a teleprompter in an internal webcast, and we prepared a newly named government relations manager for critical meetings with a Central Asian host government.
