In an ongoing effort to sharpen it mobilization and decision-making skills, WPNT assisted the general office crisis team of a leading consumer brands company during a facilitated crisis drill. Approximately 70 team members from multiple business units and functions participated in the full-day exercise. A simulation cell, pre-produced news reports and a debriefing were part of the program conducted in Cincinnati.

Engineers from the research arm of a global telecommunications giant were prepped for media interviews with trade press and general media in anticipation of the WiCon and NextFest conferences held in Amsterdam and San Francisco respectively. WPNT conducted three programs outside Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale.
Corporate communications managers of a Wisconsin-based global manufacturer underwent an intensive WPNT Executive Media Training program. A WPNT Press Corps member simulated print interviews and filed actual stories to provide immediate feedback to the participants.
More than 60 plant, quality and human resources managers from U.S. and Caribbean manufacturing facilities participated in a threat & communications training program hosted by this worldwide healthcare products maker and conducted by WPNT. Four, concurrent facilitated drills took place, each centered around a hypothetical scenario engaging various stakeholders and adversaries. The program was conducted near Chicago.
Public affairs managers from Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela and the U.S. attended an Executive Speech-coaching program in Dallas. The one-day session emphasized the skills needed to effectively cope with tough, emotional or hostile questions. An Hispanic member of WPNT Press Corps posed questions and provided feedback in Spanish and English.
Two leading physicians researching treatment alternatives for Parkinson's disease underwent a day of media training in San Francisco. The researchers anticipate national media attention associated with a potential medical breakthrough.
A technology expert from a global semiconductor company improved his ability to present complex data to non-technical executives in a private workshop in Dallas.
The difference between "Crisis Leadership" and crisis management was the focus of a presentation by WPNT's Ray Thompson at the Retail Industry Leaders Association conference in Dallas. Approximately 200 executives from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target and other retailers attended. Former Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose - lead investigator in the DC sniper shootings - also addressed the conference.
Enhancing stakeholder dialogue was the focus of an on-camera session in Houston for a senior executive from an international organization. The executive led a first ever meeting with a group of influential non-government organizations (NGOs) in London.
A one- and one-half day WPNT workshop in Anchorage helped a multinational company strengthen its ability to interact with local communities in the event of a crisis. The on-camera training included a customized crisis scenario involving simulated town hall meetings, discussions with tribal elders, and private briefings for elected officials.
