THIRD QUARTER 2004 HIGHLIGHTS
WPNT was busy throughout the summer and into the
fall, assisting clients in communicating a number of controversial
issues to various stakeholders. Work also focused at the top of
the house, counseling senior executives on better leveraging communications
opportunities.

Provincial government leaders praised a global
pulp and paper producer for its compassionate and organized
closure and restructuring of some operations in Atlantic,
Canada. Four hundred employees were affected by the
decision. WPNT provided Issues Management Training to the senior
leadership team in preparation for the announcement to employees,
government and union leaders and the news media. WPNT also provided
on-site support on the day of the announcement.

WPNT's Chicago office began a series of private,
WPNT Executive Communications Coaching sessions for C-suite
leadership of a Texas-based transportation
company. The recurring programs include preparation for
a number of communications venues including employee exchanges,
media interviews, crisis communications and keynote speaker
events. |

Continuing to align its business goals with its
media relations efforts, partners of a worldwide business
consulting firm participated in a WPNT Executive Media Training
program over two days in Seattle. More than a dozen executives participated in interviews specifically
for publications and venues viewed by their own clients. An
award-winning WPNT Press Corps member assisted in conducting
print interviews by telephone and later submitted written stories
to the participants. |
| |
WPNT's senior New York-based Associate served
as a co-trainer for another in a recurring series of Executive
Presentation Skills training programs for a large, multinational
company. The session for eight senior executives was held
in the Washington, D.C. area.
The Associate has decades of experience working privately with
high-profile leaders from industry, academia and government. |
| |
Facing shareholder litigation led by one of the
fiercest class-action securities law firms in the country, a
large, publicly held company has tapped WPNT to provide
communications counsel and training. Brought in by the firm's
Associate General Counsel, WPNT is working alongside a specialty
litigation PR firm based in New York and the company's legal and communications departments. |

and press conferences throughout the daylong event. |

television interviews. |

a great speech than a good one. |
