WPNT was busy throughout the summer and into the fall, assisting clients in communicating a number of controversial issues to various stakeholders. Work also focused at the top of the house, counseling senior executives on better leveraging communications opportunities.

Provincial government leaders praised a global pulp and paper producer for its compassionate and organized closure and restructuring of some operations in Atlantic, Canada. Four hundred employees were affected by the decision. WPNT provided Issues Management Training to the senior leadership team in preparation for the announcement to employees, government and union leaders and the news media. WPNT also provided on-site support on the day of the announcement.
In anticipation of a CNBC PowerLunch interview, WPNT prepared a Midwest manufacturing CEO during an Executive Media Training program. Building upon previous sessions, the program focused specifically on the satellite interview. The interview was intended to follow up on a successful earnings report.
WPNT's Chicago office began a series of private, WPNT Executive Communications Coaching sessions for C-suite leadership of a Texas-based transportation company. The recurring programs include preparation for a number of communications venues including employee exchanges, media interviews, crisis communications and keynote speaker events.
Continuing to align its business goals with its media relations efforts, partners of a worldwide business consulting firm participated in a WPNT Executive Media Training program over two days in Seattle. More than a dozen executives participated in interviews specifically for publications and venues viewed by their own clients. An award-winning WPNT Press Corps member assisted in conducting print interviews by telephone and later submitted written stories to the participants.
WPNT's senior New York-based Associate served as a co-trainer for another in a recurring series of Executive Presentation Skills training programs for a large, multinational company. The session for eight senior executives was held in the Washington, D.C. area. The Associate has decades of experience working privately with high-profile leaders from industry, academia and government.
Facing shareholder litigation led by one of the fiercest class-action securities law firms in the country, a large, publicly held company has tapped WPNT to provide communications counsel and training. Brought in by the firm's Associate General Counsel, WPNT is working alongside a specialty litigation PR firm based in New York and the company's legal and communications departments.
The top 10 leaders of a Tulsa-based public company underwent Executive Media & Executive Presentation Training. The accelerated program featured a WPNT Associate with a background in both television news and executive sales training.
An Executive Media Training program in Houston for a multinational company with 25,000 U.S. employees included one of WPNT's senior press corps members from the West Coast. Based in Los Angeles, the working television journalist is a former member of the White House Press Corps where he covered the Reagan, Bush and Clinton administrations. He pressed executives on financial issues.
One of our newest Associates is a Dallas-based actress and spokesperson with extensive experience in marketing, presidential politics and corporate communications. Having served as an on-camera talent for dozens of national organizations, the new Associate is assisting our Houston office with private and group presentation skills training programs. She recently provided on-camera counsel to corporate leaders participating in an Executive Presentation Skills training program in Dallas.
A newly-added WPNT Press Corps member in our Des Moines office helped put emergency responders at a Texas nuclear generating plant through their paces in a Crisis Drill. Experienced as a reporter and producer in both commercial and public television, she brought realism and intensity to simulated media interviews and press conferences throughout the daylong event.
A former writer for USA Today who serves as a WPNT Press Corps member conducted print media interviews and generated simulated articles as part of a media training program for an investor-owned electric utility. Two of the firm's investor relations personnel gained practical media experience in the half-day session that also included several television interviews.
The number two executive at a Fortune 10 company turned to WPNT for a private on-camera training session prior to delivering the commencement address at one of the nation's leading state universities. The executive said he received excellent reviews from faculty members, students and family members proving once again it is more fun to give a great speech than a good one.
A Las Vegas Executive Presentation Skills Training program included four instructors, four audiovisual technicians, and four training rooms as WPNT ramped up to provide coaching to medical science liaison personnel from a fast-growing pharmaceutical company. The group of PhDs was focused on improving their skills when giving clinical presentations to doctors and pharmacists.
