SECOND QUARTER 2005 HIGHLIGHTS

WPNT is pleased to announce the expansion of its training facility on Houston's north side. The new space, located in the Champion Forest area,
accommodates group and individual classes and includes a large training room with a news-format talk show set and a fully-equipped breakout room. The new facility is an additional option for clients seeking a location for strategic business communications training. During the second quarter of 2005 WPNT also worked with national retailers, energy providers and technology companies, as noted below.
A WPNT Press Corps member traveled to New York City to prepare a celebrity author, hired by a global company, for a satellite media tour. Simulated media interviews prepared the author for the nationwide promotion. Subsequently, two dozen television stations from around the country participated in live, satellite interviews with the spokesperson.
Regional executives and managers from Lowe's Companies, Inc., a multi-billion dollar home improvement company, participated in a workshop in Dallas to develop improved presentation skills. The company's goal was to further enhance the communications skills of business leaders in its fast-growing Texas market.
An international company based in Houston called on WPNT to prepare a high level executive for an interview with Steve Inskeep, co-host of NPR's Morning Edition. WPNT simulated a talk radio environment to carry out the training. Morning Edition will be airing the piece in July as a component of a multi-part series.
Executives from Texas Instruments, a worldwide designer of digital signal processing solutions and semiconductor products, worked with WPNT coaches in an on-going series of presentation skills training sessions. The programs in Dallas helped finance executives prepare for employee and customer meetings.
Top scientists from a multi-national company participated in on-camera media training interviews with WPNT in advance of a recent Wall Street Journal interview. The resulting front page story accurately reflected the client's position.
In advance of a visit from President Bush and his entourage, a WPNT client sought media training for its leadership team. The Washington, D.C. event was part of a high-profile policy push by the White House.
The new president and U.S. country manager of a global industrial concern worked with WPNT to prepare for series of media interviews announcing his appointment and the company's business goals. The training and media interviews are part of a communications campaign aimed at investors, public officials, opinion leaders and employees.
With a workforce burdened by a rotating C-suite, and in an effort to mobilize employees to respond to a rapidly changing marketplace, WPNT conducted a Strategic Communications Workshop for the senior leadership team of this oil and gas technology provider. The program took place near Chicago. It focused on aligning the team's strategy, and efforts to communicate it to employees and other stakeholders.
Citing WPNT's training specifically for a 75 percent improvement in winning more blue ribbon search assignments, this national executive placement firm secured WPNT for an advanced round of presentation training focusing on team selling efforts. More than a dozen partners of the company have participated in the training so far this year, which has been conducted in Oak Brook, Illinois.
A leading media and entertainment company sought WPNT's assistance in conducting Executive Media Training for the Content Expert for its website journalists. The specialty program was conducted near Los Angeles and included a WPNT Press Corps member. The website is considered one the top information sites covering the entertainment industry. The journalists will be placed as experts with other media outlets.
Partners based in the southern states of this global human resources consulting firm, also participated in a WPNT-designed Executive Media Training for the Content Expert. The program is in its fourth year, and supports and extends the company's marketing efforts. Two WPNT Press Corps members supported this program as well, which was conducted in Atlanta.
The explosion in and use of blogs was the focus of a workshop conducted by WPNT for a well-known travel & tourism symposium. The benefits and limitations of this emerging Internet venue as a way to augment resorts' and tour operators' brand building and communications plans were addressed. The symposium was held in Aspen, Colorado.
In an effort to test the business continuity plans for its world headquarters, more than a hundred executives, staff, and local & federal emergency and law enforcement agencies took part in a day long, simulated disaster at this worldwide consumer products company. The scenario involved simulation of a bomb explosion, staged casualties and triage area, and activation of the company's new emergency command center. WPNT assisted in planning and providing simulated news coverage, as well as coverage of the exercise itself, which was conducted in Cincinnati.
With the supply of physicians tightening, how to communicate with them more effectively was the subject of a program conducted by WPNT in Charleston, South Carolina. More than two dozen strategic planning and marketing officers of hospital systems around the country attended as members of this national healthcare roundtable.
Titled, "The Spoken Word Trumps All: Practical Tips for Communicating Effectively During a Disaster", WPNT authored this article for the spring issue of the Disaster Recovery Journal. A copy of the article is available here.
