THIRD QUARTER 2005 HIGHLIGHTS

The devastation left by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita was a reminder to many clients to reassess and regularly update emergency response & crisis communications plans and business continuity programs.

A WPNT Press Corps member traveled to New York City to prepare a celebrity author, hired by a global company, for a satellite media tour. Simulated media interviews prepared the author for the nationwide promotion. Subsequently, two dozen television stations from around the country participated in live, satellite interviews with the spokesperson.
Inspiring stories of recovery in the Gulf of Mexico and heroic tales to help displaced employees and their families were the center of preparations for a media tour for an international oil & gas company. WPNT and two Associates provided Executive Media Training to executives outside New Orleans in anticipation of the visit by half a dozen journalists.
Charged with safety and evacuation responsibilities in the event of a crisis at its general office complex, the emergency response team of this worldwide toolmaker gathered for a half-day Crisis Leadership Workshop conducted by WPNT outside Milwaukee. The team included departmental representatives of environment, health & safety, legal, investor relations, facilities, risk management, quality & manufacturing and communications. In addition, the county's emergency management division was represented.
In preparation for an initial public offering and investor road show, WPNT provided Executive Communications Coaching to the CEO and leadership team of a 60-year old commodity business. The group and individual sessions, as well as rehearsals were held as the company moved successfully from a co-op structure to a public company, headquartered outside Chicago.
To maximize a week-long media visit by a leading international broadcast outlet, WPNT assisted a well-known Houston-based energy provider regarding its public health efforts in one African nation. The company's program, which is administered by an NGO, has radically reduced the number of infections in the country of one fatal illness by 35 percent, far quicker and more effectively than had been anticipated.
In anticipation of its global crisis exercise involving more than a hundred sites and hundreds of participants, WPNT prepped senior leadership of this telecommunications giant during a Facilitated Crisis Tabletop Drill near Chicago. That same day, almost two dozen other employees were trained to serve as simulators during the course of the six-hour crisis exercise scheduled for later this fall.
Partners and consultants of this global human resources firm took part in two, Executive Media Training programs designed specifically for the company. In an effort to showcase it expertise on Medicare-Part D, and other significant benefits and pension changes, eight executives took part in the Chicago program. In Cincinnati, a private session was conducted for a consultant preparing for interviews surrounding changes to his client's retiree healthcare benefits program.
Throughout the months of December 2005 and January of 2006, WPNT will be featured on American Airlines in-flight news and entertainment program, Sky Radio. WPNT partner Ray Thompson underscores the professional and organizational competitive advantages for executives who commit themselves to developing outstanding verbal communications skills.
WPNT led a strategic messaging workshop for a Fortune 25 company in the final stages of completing a multi-billion dollar overseas project. We subsequently provided Executive Media Training for the company's president prior to a visit by the Wall Street Journal.
A coalition of special interest groups is targeting a WPNT client with an aggressive boycott campaign. WPNT provided assistance with messaging and media training for the company's public and government affairs managers in multiple states.
In advance of an address at the Lehman Brothers 2005 CEO Energy & Power Conference in New York, WPNT conducted private speech coaching with a prominent company president. The annual investor conference brings together leading global energy executives.
The chief financial officer from a top venture capital investment firm traveled to WPNT's new training facility in north Houston to participate in media drills. The privately held firm specializes in alternative investments including leveraged buyouts.
In advance of a speech at the 18th World Petroleum Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, an energy executive called on WPNT for Executive Speech Coaching.
The assistant general counsel and state and federal governmental affairs representatives from a Fortune 50 company participated in a specialized Executive Communications Training session with WPNT in Houston. The program focused on presentation and media skills.
Following an extensive review of training firms, the world's largest privately owned oilfield chemical company chose WPNT for an ongoing series of Executive Presentation Skills training programs. The on-camera programs are designed to develop the presentation and communication skills of a cross section of managers and representatives. The sessions began in September and will include basic and advanced courses.
