SECOND QUARTER 2006 HIGHLIGHTS

A number of WPNT clients found themselves in the national media spotlight in the second quarter of 2006.  High-profile settings included ABC News, The Today Show, Meet the Press, and BBC Radio.  WPNT helped prepare these companies and their executives to successfully meet the challenge of national media scrutiny.  Some of the highlights include:

Two subject matter experts approached WPNT for media training in advance of high-profile television interviews.  An environmental scientist underwent on-camera simulations prior to a panel interview on PBS.  Another scientist and corporate executive utilized WPNT’s media training before an interview for a John Stossel ABC News Special.
In advance of presentations to the major credit rating agencies in New York, a publicly-held oil and gas services company sought WPNT’s help in preparing its CEO and controller.  WPNT provided speech coaching for the senior executives for presentations aimed at improving the company’s credit rating and reducing the cost of capital.
WPNT developed and implemented a mock crisis scenario at a busy metropolitan airport as part of crisis communications training in Houston for a multinational company.  Operations managers went through on-camera exercises and simulated interactions with local officials.
A worldwide technology company recently launched a recurring, branded business communications training program designed and conducted by WPNT.  Despite record- breaking quarters and a strong stock price, the Midwest-headquartered company seeks to gain greater competitive advantage through the speaking skills of senior executives.  The programs are conducted bi-monthly in either private or two-person sessions and are tailored around a specific, pending speaking assignment.
In advance of hurricane season, a leading energy concern tapped WPNT for executive media training for its front-line communicators.  The nearly two dozen professionals represented environment, health & safety, external affairs and engineering functions.
A company boycott, workplace violence and a natural disaster were part of a scenario designed by WPNT during a Crisis Leadership program for this worldwide toolmaker.  Members of the WPNT Press Corps assisted by interviewing the participants and producing news stories during the course of the full-day program conducted for a dozen senior executives outside Milwaukee.
WPNT is helping a large metropolitan zoo develop its issues management and crisis communications plan in preparation for the impact of a potential avian flu pandemic in the U.S.  The plan emphasizes early outreach efforts to multiple stakeholder groups.
Regional leadership changes, knowledge management initiatives and a speech to chief marketing officers were topics addressed during a series of WPNT Executive Communications Coaching programs for this global business consulting firm.  The programs were conducted for eight partners and held in San Francisco and New York
Two-person partner teams took part in a recent WPNT Advanced Presentation Skills & Team Selling program for this executive search firm.  The partners had already completed WPNT’s basic program.  The advanced session, conducted near Chicago was created specifically for this client and focuses on Partner Choreography, among other things.
Continuing to focus on his employees’ efforts to successfully integrate following an acquisition, the CEO of this energy company, underwent another WPNT Executive Communications Coaching session in preparation for his quarterly town hall meetings.  The meetings include live audiences on-site and in remote locations.
One of the nation’s leading natural gas distribution companies tapped WPNT for multiple days of advanced media training for field managers from several states.  The training included simulated broadcast and print media interviews with local news outlets.
Two WPNT partners and an Associate conducted another in a series of training programs for a leading investment banking company.  The organization looked to WPNT for basic and advanced presentation skills training for executives in New York City
