SECOND QUARTER 2007 HIGHLIGHTS
To support clients on a variety of external issues, employee development initiatives and preparation for other important communications opportunities, WPNT traveled throughout Asia including Kuala Lumpur and Singapore during the second quarter.
| |
A senior vice president of a major chemical concern took advantage of WPNT's executive presentation skills program in order to prepare for his upcoming keynote address at an international petrochemical conference in Shanghai. The speaker's remarks were aimed at strengthening the strategic relationship between the Chinese Government and his company.
|
| |
WPNT also spent almost two weeks in Shanghai to again provide support for a well-known chemical & technology company as communications coaching faculty. Twenty aspiring managers presented in teams to an audience of senior leadership on issues ranging from housing opportunities in India to the emerging field of carbon capture and storage.
|
| |
Later in the quarter, WPNT supported the same client in Moscow with an Executive Presentation Skills Awareness program for another round of high potential executives assigned potential business opportunity initiatives for the company.
|
| |
Back at the company's Midwest headquarters in the United States, thirty senior leaders received WPNT counsel in preparation for their presentations to the C-suite surrounding other worldwide initiatives for growth. |
| |
A corporate client utilized WPNT in a crisis exercise designed to enhance cooperation among multiple emergency response agencies. WPNT personnel staffed a "SIM cell" in which they played the part of the media and public officials. Participating agencies included the United States Coast Guard, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

| |
WPNT worked one-on-one with two vice presidents of a leading multinational specialty materials company. During the strategic communications workshops the executives learned skills to prepare them for high profile speaking events. |

In April WPNT delivered a media training program with a crisis component for a global company in California. The program featured real life, real-time, crisis situations, including print media interviews via telephone and the subsequent production of electronic news articles. The articles helped participants gauge their effectiveness.. |

To prepare its marketing communications staff to identify strategic news media opportunities, WPNT conducted an Executive Media Awareness Workshop via webinar from Chicago. Twenty professionals of this human resources consulting firm participated domestically and from abroad.
|
| |
Recognizing that early childhood development and education are critical to the area's competitive advantage, WPNT assisted spokespersons of a new initiative led and funded by leading employers in Minneapolis. Following years of public school decline, the group is marshalling resources and expertise to address the issue. WPNT provided Executive Communications Coaching to business leaders to speak to school board members and other stakeholders in public forums. |

In June, WPNT's Ray Thompson delivered an executive presentation skills workshop for 40 revenue agents and supervisors from the Internal Revenue Service. After completing the workshop, the clients left feeling better suited to present informative and comprehensive audit reports to taxpayers and staff members. |
| |
WPNT had the pleasure of holding a two day training session with 18 managers from a Fortune 50 company. Hosted in the company's facilities in Ohio, WPNT devoted day one to strengthening the participant's presentation skills, while day two was spent sharpening their crisis communication skills. |
| |
In preparation for an interview with a leading business wire, WPNT conducted a private, Executive Media Training program for a senior leader of this international energy concern located in Houston. The interview focused on the company's social development efforts in emerging countries. |
