FOURTH QUARTER 2001 HIGHLIGHTS

CEOs today are expected to be gifted communicators...but they often have limited time to hone their skills. To continue the professional development of c-suite executives, WPNT provides confidential speech coaching and media training sessions. We closed out 2001 with a busy quarter of these one-on-one programs for chief executives and presidents from leading telecom, airline, electric utility, and technology companies. The highly customized sessions were conducted in Chicago, Dallas and Houston.

A well-known Chicago area Fortune 500 formally launched its Leadership Communication Series, designed in tandem with WPNT exclusively for the senior executives. Each of the three signature series programs held in the quarter opened with a videotaped testimonial from the CEO. During a fast-paced and intensive day, the programs emphasize the responsibilities, risks and rewards of the senior executive in media interactions.
Senior scientific managers of a South African chemical manufacturer underwent crisis communication training conducted by WPNT complete with a customized scenario and WPNT Press Corps. The training was held at the multinational's research & development center in Austin, Texas.
In the wake of September 11th, WPNT helped design a detailed media briefing conducted by the South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company in Bay City. The briefing and tour, which included the FBI and county judge, emphasized the facility's security and safety procedures. Six television stations and regional media attended the briefing.
Providing physicians throughout Asia with an alternative to treating obesity, WPNT readied chief spokespersons of a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer during executive media skill-building programs conducted in Hong Kong. Obesity is a leading contributor to adult on-set diabetes, which has increased more than 30 percent in the last decade in parts of Asia.
As chief communication strategist, WPNT developed and executed a media relations plan for the Top of Iowa Wind Farm Project dedication ceremony. WPNT's efforts yielded a Wind Energy Week proclamation from the governor. The wind farm, one of the largest in the Midwest, generates enough energy for 30,000 homes annually in Worth County.
Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota called on WPNT to provide media training for a select group of physicians and executives to serve as interview "experts" in their specialty.
A vice president for finance of a fast growing company with $200 million in revenues dropped us this e-mail recently. "We wanted to thank you for your help in early December with our investor road show. You helped us organize and crystallize our thinking about what's meaningful to potential investors and how our corporate capabilities marry up with their interests. We've met with three different firms since then, and the story is hitting all the right buttons. Your help was invaluable as a catalyst for our unstructured thinking!"
